Tuesday 13th May Went in early to see Noah today got him all changed and ready for feed but he was so sleepy. I tried to feed him but he wouldn’t open his mouth and I was getting frustrated. The nurse came over and I said I would try to do the football hold and sit him up a bit. Well Noah was awake and rearing to go when I changed positions. His mouth was open and have lots of sucks on the boob by the end of 20 minutes he was holding the nipple even after he had sucked and rested and then would suck again. Not sure how much milk he got but he did get some with his little burp after. I was so proud and impressed cause that 1 feed is closer to him feeding full time. Paed came in to see him and didn’t change anything still waiting for the NaHo3 to kick in properly and he is still having issues breathing and having to be suctioned every few hours as he can clear his nose. He put on 30 grams = 1575grams last night so obviously the 22ml per 2 hours is working and hopefully tomorrow will go up. The aim is be out of there 38 weeks. That is so exciting I hope he can come home earlier still! I didn’t stay for the 12 feed he was tired after and I knew he had little energy for the 1st one so I got some stuff done which was nice and am feeling mighty happy I figured out the footy hold… with respect to my milk were loosing it fast. Have gone from 1litre a day to 600mls. Need to start night expressing again and also some more stout or rum. Desperate times call for desperate measures!
