I think my belly is less rounded and more pokey. But my boobs are definately bigger!!

Pessary #???

On Wednesday ended up with my cervix really low and open and bleeding. I called my midwife Linda and asked what I should do. Do I bother going to the hospital or just wait and see. She suggested Put my pessary back in so nothing falls out. 2. Check my urine for a UTI (which I did all ok besides leucocytes at 1 so will push fluids and check tomorrow) 3. Put a pad on and see if blood comes out on the pad. (I was wearing a home made one before out of material and was black) 4. Stay on all 4's try and tilt my cervix back to normal. 5. Take some Metamucil and try and poo normally6. If bleeding keeps going go to hospital after calling her7. Seeing her at 10 am tomorrow for cervix check if tonight goes alright. I put the pessary back in but it kept slipping out so I called the hospital and went in. 2 hours later I was seen and stated I needed to come back in the morning for a new pessary to be put. Told to sit still and not move too much till the next morning

Next day Aaron and I headed in the hospital again and waited again to see the gynecologist who fitted me for a HUGE pessary. Fitted well and baby is fine. He said all was ok. I would need my uterus to be fixed once baby is born and pinned back into the proper position so I don’t get issues in later life.

Unfortunately today pessary came out again. I tried to call the midwife but they haven’t called back yet, not sure what to do. Cervix is open 2 cm easily and I can feel the top of my uterus but the gyny didn’t seem worried. At the moment cervix is nice and high and no bleeding so might let is go for a bit and see what happens.

20 weeks + 5 days

Meeting Linda

Met my midwife Linda today she was lovely and gave me heaps of info. I have also booked in for free yoga at centre for pregnant women which runs Mondays and has free child care. Next appointment with her is 2/3 and doing yoga that day too. She changed my dates again to the 22/7 as per my LMP she studied my chart and was very impressed. Got my results back from ultrasound and all was ok. Except dates hard to find due to baby position which we already knew.

Not sure about the home birth she has to ask Dr Kennedy Andrews if I am safe insurance wise as I still high risk. If not she is happy to labor at home with me and transfer there after to birth and be monitored by Belinda.

She did my measurements uterus measured 21 cm and everything else ok. I also spoke to the doula today and she is happy to come on as a midwife student and help out. This means I spend no money and have the best care possible. I am over the moon.

19 Week U/S

Had my ultrasound today and after counting down for 16 weeks to this one day it was all worth it.

Mum and Aaron came with me. I was so pleased mum decided to come and be part of our pregnancy. As she lives so far away I felt like it was the first pregnancy thing we have done together besides buying odds and ends when I am 40 weeks pregnant. Mum was so over the moon when the announced the gender she jumped up to kiss us both. Mum has been there thru both kids deliveries I say she is my leg holder. She does a very hard job and I bet it is hard work but physically and emotionally.

Ultrasound came back very well from what the lady said. All bits of heart and brain were developing nicely and the only part baby was uncooperative with was the lower spine. That was bad since that’s where spine bifida shows itself. Eventually bubs showed himself but he took his time. Everything else came out really well.

We got see the bub gentiles as saw for sure it was a boy so since we have been calling him Noah as chosen. Seems to fit more than Lachlan.

Baby measured smaller again. EDD now 2/7/09 but that is so impossible I am sticking with EDD as 28/9 I am not changing again.

Was such a romantic experience for Aaron and I, being such an intimate moment when we see our baby felt like dream. Aaron cuddled me the whole way thru and made a huge difference to the experience.

Our baby boy is on the way and we are so excited!
